Paulownia species are important ecological, economic and ornamental species, but their phylogenetic relationship remains unclear, which seriously affects the development and utilization of these important resources. The complete chloroplast genomes of six Paulownia species were assembled by next-generation sequencing data. By adding two known Paulownia chloroplast genomes to these six assembled genomes, we performed the comparative analysis and phylogenetic tree reconstruction of Paulownia.

These chloroplast genomes contained unique functional genes, including 80 protein-coding genes, four rRNA genes, and 33 tRNA genes. Twelve hotspot regions, five protein-coding genes and seven noncoding regions, were identified in the chloroplast genomes that showed high levels of sequence variation. Additionally, positive selection was observed in three genes, rps2 , rbcL and ndhG.

Designing the nature reserves is an effective approach to protecting biodiversity. The traditional approaches to designing the nature reserves could only identify the core area for protecting the species without specifying an appropriate land area of the nature reserve. The site selection approaches, which are based on mathematical model, can select part of the land from the planning area to compose The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of forest gaps on the variations of soil properties in Castanopsis kawakamii natural forest.

Soil physical and chemical properties in various sizes and development stages were studied in C. The results showed that forest gaps in various sizes and development stages could improve soil pore space structure and water characteristics

tree–line Taiwan fir (Abies kawakamii H.) dendroclimatic analysis, we found the relationships of ring dating quality test methods, comparing its difference.

When the tree is mature, both its height and width are typically 15 to 30 ft. The size proportion of the crown to the tree trunk is significantly larger. The crown is so large and voluminous that it makes the trunk appear small. Overall, the species is wider than tall due to its crown. Image 1. Pyrus kawakamii alive and well in its early stages of life.

The leaves are an oval-like shape, similar to an egg, with a pointed tip. The size of each leaf is roughly about 2 in. They are grown in a bunch on each apical bud, typically three or more leaves on each branch, similar to a bouquet of flowers.

Found one on each side of house with gargantuan leaves. Was told it was a Paulownia. I’d never seen pics with the giant leaves. Still unsure bc don’t know why plants showed up now. Just planted so waiting on actual results.

Abstract: Abies Mill. Recent phylogenetic studies of Abies using regions of the nuclear and plastid genomes generally support recent classifications. However, we have previously shown that in several cases sectional memberships should be revised, and more species are needed to generate a robust infrageneric classification. Our taxonomic revision integrates the phylogenies presented here as well as those from other studies.

We merged sect. Pseudopicea with sect. Momi , recognized the merger of sect. Abies with sect.
